Airport:Waiting to Board

30 10 2010

Well, it was a short but awesome time at the Houston International Quilt Market. I took a cool tour of quilt shops and NASA (pictures later today), met fabulous people, taught a class, and went to the Sample Spree (wild! great fabric, etc). What was particularly cool was one of my students from the blog class, Gary Darwin (www.pmquilting.com) was at the sample spree and has already created his blog! Yeah!

When I get back to San Antonio, Lord willing, I will get back to work on the items for the craft show…lots to do there!

Lift Off Tomorrow (I hope!)

26 10 2010

I am packed, my blogs are updated, I have snacks and, God willing, I will have lift-off tomorrow at 10:10 AM. Being the white knuckled sort, I am glad that the flight is only 55 minutes!

I have another blog to share with you. Since my pet bandanas are quite different from my other areas of interest (longarming and embroidery), I have another blog that is pet oriented. The address, if you are curious is:

http://mcarmickle.tumblr.com

I have one more photo to upload today and then I will have the new blog pretty well up to date except for images of the bandanas that I have just recently completed.

I will look forward to sharing my quilt market experience with you tomorrow and for the rest of the week…I think it will be very exciting!

Houston Market Just Around the Corner!

25 10 2010

I can’t believe that the Houston Quilt Market is starting this week. I am taking a quilt shop tour on Thursday (yippee skippee), I teach my business blogging class on Friday morning at 8 AM (yikes!) and then will go to the Sampler Spree on Friday night. It is going to be gloriously hectic and I can hardly wait. I have a little door prize for the class and have everything just about packed. I am flying out on Wednesday and my dear hubbie will be the main puppy sitter while I am away.

Did you notice I said “flying”? Yep, queen of the white knuckled flyers is back in the plane for the trip to Houston. I decided I was less likely to get killed flying and getting a shuttle to the hotel than trying to drive in the Houston traffic 🙂

I am working away on my inventory for the craft shows that will be coming up after I return from Houston. If you are in the near vicinity of San Antonio on Nov.6 (Coker United Methodist Church Craft Show) or Dec.2 &3 (San Antonio Christian Academy), come to the shows. I would love to meet any of you in person.

I am currently quilting a cute wool applique quilt. The jury is still out on how I will quilt the background fill for the applique…that is always something I really have to “study” to be sure that I am doing what will really enhance the applique.

Don’t forget that I will be posting from the Market and check back periodically…I hope to upload pictures.

Busy, Busy!

21 10 2010

I haven’t had an opportunity to post in several days. I am REALLY busy getting ready for Houston Market (I am teaching business blogging) and 2 craft shows. I am making tons of necks2nothing bandanas (I have sold several and that is a Yippee Skippee) and doing some baby items that I will call Baby Gaga. Anyway, next week is the Market and I am thrilled about going. I plan to Tweet and blog about my experience. More later….

More Information on Necks2Nothing Pet Bandanas

13 10 2010

Today I would like to share some pictures that may give you an idea of the sizes that are available in the pet bandanas. As you view the pictures, notice that there is a ruler that indicates that the large is about 7″ ” wide and about 6″ long. The medium is about 6″ wide and about 5.5″ long and the small is about 5.5″ wide and 5.5″ long. I can adjust sizes, trims, etc and I have many fabrics available for college teams and holidays. I also can monogram initials and, if your pet is involved in an activity, monogram that on the bandana as well.
