Back to Work

6 11 2012

Well, after a wonderful spring and summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains, it’s time to get back in touch with reality. I have lots of new things to share with you and hope you will be as excited as I am about some new things that I am doing and offering as products.

First, in the quilting department, I am offering some new classes. Artsy Fartsy is a new class that will be offered in installments…thread art, thread painting, embellishment, quilt as you go are just a few topics included in the series.

In the dog accessories department I will be offering a custom collar and bandana combination. The collars will be in specific color combinations to enhance the colors found in the matching bandanas, which of course, can be personalized to your specifications.

Finally, I have two new products in the monogramming department. First, an adorable alternative to personalized binkie blankets: precious stuffed animals with the little ones’ birth information and name on its tummy. Animals available include lambs, monkeys, elephants, ladybugs, etc. The second product is a very fashion forward monogrammed fold-able tote…leopard, cheetah and other trims are available with this item.

Please stay tuned…I promise to do a much better job of keeping in touch!

Ch-Ch-Changes Part 2

13 02 2012

Today I would like to tell you about the changes that are occurring in my  business, ChiliQuiltes. As of the January, my focus has changed and I hope you will share with me the excitement that I feel as I venture out into new territory.

First, ChiliQuiltes, my first business venture, will be the overall umbrella for two other smaller ventures. First, I would like to introduce TAKE IT PERSONALLY, a custom embroidery business that will be a joint partnership with my husband. We will be doing custom embroidery ( for shirts, wedding accessories, baby items, hats, towels, graduation and other special event or holiday gifts, etc.) both locally and online.

Secondly, I would like to reintroduce you to my other smaller venture,NECKS 2 NOTHING. Necks2Nothing is a pet accessory business which includes unique dog bandanas (personalized), as well as personalized leads, collars, T-Shirts with your dog’s picture and personalized with embroidery, as well personalized crate covers  and beds.

What about ChiliQuiltes? What’s up with this part of the business? Well, I will be doing my teaching under this name. I will continue to teach my business blogging,  Designs within the Lines (certified through Pam Clark), and a brand new class, Artsy Fartsy, which is an introduction at art quilting and surface design techniques.  I also hope to begin giving tips for beginning longarm quilters to help them as they begin their love affair with machine quilting. BTW, I will be teaching at Quilting With Machines again this year. The two class that I will be presenting are Artsy Fartsy and Business Blogging.

In the upcoming days, I will be adding a cart and paypal capabilities to this site with further information about products and policies. In the mean time, if you have questions, please contact me at chiliquiltes@gmail.com.

Again, I hope you will join me and be a part of my new adventures. I would love to become a customer but just having your support will be a thrill, believe me! Happy Monday!

Lift Off Tomorrow (I hope!)

26 10 2010

I am packed, my blogs are updated, I have snacks and, God willing, I will have lift-off tomorrow at 10:10 AM. Being the white knuckled sort, I am glad that the flight is only 55 minutes!

I have another blog to share with you. Since my pet bandanas are quite different from my other areas of interest (longarming and embroidery), I have another blog that is pet oriented. The address, if you are curious is:

http://mcarmickle.tumblr.com

I have one more photo to upload today and then I will have the new blog pretty well up to date except for images of the bandanas that I have just recently completed.

I will look forward to sharing my quilt market experience with you tomorrow and for the rest of the week…I think it will be very exciting!

Back in the Saddle Again!

1 03 2009

Well, after several weeks of battling flu and sinus infections, I am finally back in full swing. I finished a custom quilt (which is pictured today with this post), sold my HQ system to a lovely lady in Las Vegas and received my new system, an APQS Green Liberty on Friday. BTW, the nice folks who setup my APQS are in Austin, Over the Top Quilting, so you may want to check them out if you are in the Austin area. Susan Rubino and her sister own this company and I know that you would enjoy meeting them.

For the next few weeks I will be learning the ins and outs of the APQS. I need to get up to speed since I have quilts that are waiting to be quilted! Thankfully, the frames are similar and loading them is very much the same…I just want to get the feel of the machine and what thread she likes. BTW, her name is Kermita (the female equivalent of Kermit the Frog) since she is a Green machine. A green machine in the APQS line is a refurbished machine. I think she is beautiful 🙂

I will be receiving tons of new motifs for my embroidery soon, and, if copyright permits, I will post some of the new designs. I am really excited about them. I also started monograming flannel pajama bottoms…they are so cute!

It’s good to be back and I hope to have a new recipe up for you this week, so check back frequently.

Luggage Tags and Koozies Arrive!

9 11 2008

First, a quick hello to Leann and Robyn, the new friends that I made at the Houston Quilt Festival. I will be checking in with you in the near future. I thoroughly  enjoyed hearing not only about life in Australia, but also life in North Texas! Thanks for your comments on an earlier post.

My blank luggage tags and koozies have arrived and I had to share them with you. I LOVE the colors of the luggage tags and I think that those who receive them will find that they will be a big help when they are trying to identify their bags at the airport!Even the black tags will stand out with bright monogramming; I think anyone would be happy to receive one, regardless of their age or gender.

The koozies are also VERY cute and the camouflage variety will be a big hit with a “hard to buy for” guy on your Christmas list.  Dots are still a fashion item, so I think the lime dots and pink dots would be happily received by anyone on a Christmas list as well.

I hope to add some pet products to our product line, too. I am currently investigating leashes and collars as well as bandannas for your favorite canine or feline.

If it sounds like I am having way too much fun finding this item, I have to admit that I am enjoying it! The best part is that I believe that folks who will receive them will enjoy them, too.

Luggage Tags: A Great Gift Idea for Any Occasion

7 10 2008

As many of you know, sometimes life gets in the way of the best laid plans, so I am late to deliver on my promise to show you a new “blank” product that I am making available to my customers. I have been looking for gift ideas that are affordable and classy; that look expensive but are very economical. These luggage tags may be exactly what meets your needs from kiddoes to adults. I am also going to be carrying blank koozies. Again, this can be a cute, inexpensive gift to show you care without “breaking” your bank account.

As more blanks are added to my inventory, I will try to be more prompt in getting them uploaded to share with you.
